Volunteer Opportunities

We rely solely on volunteers, and we can always use new volunteers! Come contribute ideas and plan and execute events. See below to find different ways you can contribute!

Annual Auction

The annual auction raises more than half of all PTA fundraising and is a chance for parents to have a fun night, without the kids, while bidding on some amazing things.

Swigert Gives/Color Run

Our fall giving drive to support teachers, IB costs, and more culminates in a Color Run with bright powder. Volunteer to throw color, sort shirts, or generally help this fun event happen!

Community Engagement

Help welcome our new families to the amazing Swigert community. Attend events like playground meetups and happy hours for families to connect with their grade. Become a Mentor to develop a 1:1 relationship with a new family.

In-Room Volunteers

Support our teachers and staff as a Room Parent, Friday Folder helper, or other great offerings. Build community by offering connection to other parents.

Class Party Coordinator

Help coordinate the parties that happen within your child’s class. These Room Parent will ask for a Coordinator to plan, attend, and execute three class parties a year.

Trunk or Treat

Design a trunk and pass out candy at this fun school event! Trunks are creative, exciting, and costumes are encouraged!

Food Pantry

Less Volunteer time, but very important! Participate in the Fall and Spring Food Drives by sending in the requested items with your children.

Spirit Wear

Show your Swigert pride with clothing, magnets, masks and other Swigert swag.

Literacy/Book Fair

Keeping kids reading all year by supporting the Fall and Spring Scholastic Book Fairs. Volunteers are needed to help sort books, ring up purchases, and help with student shopping.

School Garden

The garden functions as a fun outdoor classroom for all students! Help with harvests, clean-ups, planting, seed starting, watering, summer maintenance, and more!

Dine and Donate

Eat at local restaurants on specific nights and a portion of the proceeds go to Swigert.
